Things to Do
We have hand picked some great activities and days out that we are sure will enhance your time in Killarney. You may not want to leave The Grove at all between strolling down the meadow or chilling on your heated patrio but in case your after a bit more have a browse through the details below! Email us if you would like pricing or further information. Of course if you don't see what you want contact us too as it may very well be possible.
Killarney National Park
Whether you walk, bike, take a jaunting car or boat the world renowned Killarney National Park is a wonderland for all. From Castles to Abbeys waterfalls to islands and the King of all mountains to sandy lakeshores we are happy to advise something to suit.
Some of own favourite rainy day outings include driving up the Muckross Road (part of the Ring of Kerry) and stopping for lunch or amazing treats at Molls Gap or the Strawberry Pancake House. Torc Waterfall or the Mossy Woods near Muckross House are also great sheltered spot for a walk. Muckross House itself is only 5km from us and offers spectacular views of Killarney's Lakes and Mountains plus a Downtown Abbey esque feel.
We have a great Bike Hire outlet 8 minutes walk from us and they provide maps too. Highly recommend the circular cycle (or walk) of what locals call the Dinis circuit. A fabulous 15km circle from Killarney Glamping taking in Muckross Abbey, Muckross House, Dinis Cottage, The Meeting of the Waters and Torc Waterfall (not to mention nice tea stops at Muckross House and Dinis Cottage).
Of course Killarney is home to Ireland's highest mountain but often undervalued is a trip up Torc Mountain especially if time is tight. Normally just below the cloud line the summit of this very do-able mountain offers panoramic views of Killarney's National Park and Town. A step up (literally) is Mangerton Mountain which has a gorgeous lake near it's peak affectionately known as the Devils Punchbowl. We are very happy to provide any information needed to help you make the most of your time....
Ring of Kerry & Wild Atlantic Way
Of course we are biased but think you will agree Killarney Glamping is a perfect base for touring the South West. We are located on both the Ring of Kerry and Wild Atlantic Way touring routes. You will find lots of information on both provided in your Glamping Suite and we are happy to recommend local tour companies if you prefer to sit back and take it all.
