It is a rite of passage to stand in the town centre through rain, hail or shine and pay witness to the array of greenery and culture that makes up the St. Patricks Day Parade. Of course, we don’t make just one day of it there is a full calendar of events surrounding the date. It is almost mandatory that one samples a Green ice-cream or Guinness on the day too
Ireland’s great outdoors festival provides something for all abilities. From food trails to guided ascents of Ireland’s highest peak, live podcasts to fun runs and kayaking this is a great way to spend a weekend.
Considered the jewel in the crown of Irish rallying, witnessing the skills involved navigating their way through spectacular valleys and glens is sure the get the adrenaline pumping.
Now in its 15th year this is a sight to behold and one of our personal favourite festivals. The festival base less than 3km from us bustles from dawn to dusk with entertainment ranging from funfair to live bands, demo rides to food fair.
This annual festival celebrating all things American kicks off early with a choral performance at the town hall and runs until late with outdoor movie in the National Park followed by fireworks.
Against a spectacular backdrop of Mountains and Lakes the Killarney Racecourse festivals run in May, July, August and September. Just 2km from us here.
This epic annual adventure sees athletes of all levels running, cycling and kayaking through Killarney’s extensive UNESCO National Park. They have 3 exciting routes ranging from 27km to 83km.
From duathlons to full marathons there is a feast of events to challenge yourself with this year in Killarney running from April to November.
This magical annual festival is as popular with locals as it is with tourists. With concerts, parades, shopping and food events it really is the place to be in the lead up and throughout the festive season.
