May Magic in Killarney
We are openly biased and think Killarney is fantastic for events, festivals and scenery all year round but this season is especially shaping up to rival the best of destinations. The INEC (Ireland’s National Events Centre hits comedic gold with both Mario Rosenstock & Jimmy Carr performing. International acts ranging from Garry Barlow to Cliff Richard, Snow Patrol to Nathan Carter are scattered throughout summer but personally we are excited for the Little Hours gig and Killarney’s own rising star Cathal Flaherty. Killarney Glamping at the Grove is just 1.5km from this epic venue making us a perfect “couples only” base….
If music or comedy isn’t your thing a flutter at the May Races could be worth your while. A great lineup of races are complimented by the backdrop of Killarney’s lakes and mountains and they have a pretty good bar to boot!
At Killarney Glamping we are delighted to give other recommendations to enhance your stay and have arranged everything from a guitar serenade on arrival (resulting in one very mortified lady), day trip in the National Park inclusive of romantic picnic, afternoon tea in one of Killarney’s most luxurious drawing rooms to name a few.
We do find most couples enjoy nothing more than chilling out in utmost privacy, star gazing fireside (not our fault if you gobble all your complimentary marshmallows), creating culinary masterpieces in their own private kitchen complete with BBQ (we have a few restaurants on backup that will gladly deliver if things go to pot), reconnecting over the many board games provided (not responsible for any Scrabble related quarrels).
So whether you are coming to Kerry or the South West of Ireland this season for a uniquely romantic escape or want to also squeeze in some sights, culture and gigs yet stay less than a mile from Killarney’s town centre this is the spot for you….
